A hymn to the Virgin Mary (HL, 2, p 142) invoking her sorrow
as she beheld the suffering and death of her son; no grief was keener, for no child was dearer.

Ihesu Christe fili virginis.
A prayer to Jesus Christ, invoking his passion. The author asks
that we who share his suffering and that of his mother may be worthy to rejoice with them forever.
