A prayer to God asking that, as he did not desert his mother when
he caused his disciple John to take his place as her son, we who share her suffering may receive the reward of
eternal life.

Iohannem alterum ei filium subrogasti concede\ propicius ut qui tibi et tue compatimur genitrici\ intimato tue

son crowned with thorns and hearing the cries, Crucify him, she followed him, filled with distress and fearless
of the cruel people as they cried out for her son’s crucifixion.
