Folio 60r

Miscellaneous prayers, mainly to Jesus Christ, continued.

Prayer, Iuste iudex Ihesu, continued.

The author asks Christ, whose right arm shattered closed doors, to demolish the plots of his enemies, who wish to take over his heart. He asks Christ to comfort him; he asks that his enemies may not rise up against him; that they may be destroyed; that, with Christ as his shield, he may overcome them. He asks Christ to send him the holy spirit to enlighten him. He asks that the symbol of the cross may strengthen him and that with it as his banner he may be victorious, leaving his defeated enemy without any rights [of citizenship in the heavenly kingdom]. He asks Christ to have mercy on him.

as
frange meos inimicos necnon et insidias\
quibus voluit occupare mei cordis semitas.

Au\di Christe me clamantem et precantem miserum.
Et que\renti pietatem porrige solacium,
Ne insurgant in\imici mei in obprobrium.

Destruantur et tabescant\ qui me volunt perdere.
Fiat illis in ruinam laqueus\ invidie.
Ihesu pie Ihesu bone noli me relinquere.\

Tu defensor et protector tu sis michi clipeus,
Ut resis\tam te rectore michi detrahentibus.
Et eisdem su\peratis gaudeam diucius.

Mitte sanctum de supernis\ sedibus paraclitum,
Tuo meum qui illustret splen\dore consilium.
Odientes me repelle et eorum odium.\

Sancte crucis tue signum sensus meos muniat,
Et\ vexillo triumphali me victorem faciat,
Ut de\victus inimicus iuribus deficiat.

Misere mei\ Ihesu Christe fili dei genite.
Miserere deprecanti angelorum\ domine.
Esto semper memor mei dator indulgencie.\

Deus pater deus filius deus alme spiritus.
Qui semper [trinus et] unus diceris et dominus.
Tibi sit laus virtus\ summa honor quoque perpetuus. Amen.\
