Guardian Angel, continued
Prayer, Superne curie civis.
A prayer to a Guardian Angel. The author thanks the angel for guarding him. He
asks the angel to protect him against physical and spiritual danger, to help him
to live a virtuous life, to procure for him a good end, and to lead his soul to
eternal life.
Superne curie civis angelice qui ad\ custodiam fragilis vite mee, misericordia
dei\ deputatus es deo et tibi gracias ago\ de tua fideli custodia qua me omnibus
diebus ac nocti\bus horis atque momentis vite mee custodire dig\natus es. Tu es
dulcissimus et amantissimus do\minus meus et meum est omni hora te prosequi\ et
amplecti tuam purissimam sanctitatem. O candidum\ et immarcessibile lilium
celestis Paradysi rutulans\ sydus superioris firmamenti viva gemma corone\ regis
eterni. Mi domine indulge michi quicquid umquam\ in conspectu tuo deliqui et
veniam omnium delictorum\ meorum concede michi a domino insidiantes michi hostes
re\pelle in omni periculo anime et corporis michi assiste co\gitaciones
desideria voluntates locuciones acci\ones et oraciones meas adiuva ut
acceptabiles\ in conspectu domini sint sicut suavitatis incensum\ omnem vitam
meam ne commendo in die defunctionis\ mee. Adesto michi cum electis sociis tuis.
Et impetra michi a domino\ ut felix et racionabilis et honestus fiat exitus
