Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre

Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre is a Science and Environment education centre based within the University of Aberdeen. We aim to engage school children, local communities and the general public with science and the environment, through teacher training courses, school workshops and public events.

The Cruickshank Botanic Garden is open every day, including weekends. Click here for opening times.

Members of the public are welcome to visit without a booking, but organised groups must make a booking in order to comply with health and safety regulations.

The Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre is open for the general public on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10 am to 4pm unless pre-booked for group activities.

Families and individuals can drop into the museum without prebooking. Organised groups (schools,nurseries...) should book their visit in advance. Contact us here for a group booking.

The Zoology Museum is open between 10 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday.

Visitors are warmly welcomed to the museum, and there is no charge for admission.

Education Opportunities

Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre is an educational facility that supports high quality teaching of biodiversity and environmental topics within the Curriculum for Excellence in Scottish schools. We are continually developing our resources and provision to assist teachers.
