Aberdeen University Press has recently published the autobiograpy of Professor John Laird (17 May 1887 – 5 August 1946). Laird was a Scottish philosopher who specialised in metaphysics and moral philosophy and was Regius Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Aberdeen. He was part of the New British Realism School of Philosophy.

This special edition of the Journal of Scottish Thought, Volume 6 (2018) includes an introduction by Cairns Craig and has two sections by John Laird: The autobiography of a Scots Professor and Recent Philosophy
