Families can enjoy a science-themed fun day out at Waterstone’s Union Bridge this weekend at an event organised by the University of Aberdeen.
As part of the University’s Café Scientifique series, families will be able to take part in a book hunt, speak to scientists and get involved in interactive demonstrations at the event on Saturday, August 17.
There will also be prizes up for grabs, including annual passes to Satrosphere.
Those who attend will also be able to take the opportunity to chat to staff and students from the University of Aberdeen about the research currently being undertaken at the University.
Dr Rhiannon Thompson of the Public Engagement with Research Unit said: “Cafe Scientifique is a fantastic way of bringing our University community together with the public. The Family Day differs from our popular public evening events, instead featuring a range of science-themed activities, science buskers and researchers to inspire all the family.”
The Café Scientifique Family Fun day is a free drop-in event and will take place between 12- 4pm Saturday, August 17, and is part of the Café Scientifique Aberdeen City series which is taking place until October.
Full details of this and the other events in the programme can be found at www.engagingaberdeen.co.uk. The series is supported by a science engagement grant from the Scottish Government.
