Growing up in natural world

Pre-schoolers will get the chance to learn a little more about the life cycle of animals and plants tomorrow (Friday June 4) at the Nature Tots session organised by the University of Aberdeen Natural History Centre.

The Growing Up event is aimed at two to five year olds and will see youngsters touring the Zoology Museum to see the different stages of animals as they grow.

The young visitors will also be taken on a stroll through the Cruickshank Botanic Garden to look for signs of growing plants.

Sandra Bisset, Education Assistant at the Natural History Centre, said: “Growing Up should be a fun filled session and will also include displays of birds' nests and eggs and hopefully some live tadpoles and maybe even some ducklings.

“Children will also get the chance to plant a seed which they can take home and hopefully see it grow.”

The sessions are FREE and take place on Friday June 4 between 10am and 12 noon and 1pm and 3pm. There is no need to book and children must be accompanied by an adult.
