Seven University of Aberdeen research projects have been selected at the spring 2024 RSE Research Awards open call.
The University will share more than £680K with 12 of the 19 Scottish higher education institutions. Projects include an investigation into the enslavement of asylum seekers, fighting unhealthy eating habits and a collaborative project with Illinois State University looking into liquid crystals as candidates in energy applications.
The RSE's Research Awards Programme runs twice a year in spring and autumn. It aims to support Scotland’s research sector by nurturing promising talent, stimulating research in Scotland, and promoting international collaboration.
RSE Vice President, Research, Professor Anne Anderson OBE FRSE said: “The Research Awards Programme of the RSE is crucial for bolstering Scotland’s vibrant research community. The recipients of these awards will drive advancements in knowledge, tackle global challenges, and make significant contributions to Scottish society.
