Budding Aberdeen photographers show their wild side

A group of budding photographers are holding a really wild exhibition at the University of Aberdeen.

The group from the Reach Out Project has recently completed a series of visits to the Conoco Natural History Centre and Zoology Museum and from this has put together an exhibition of their work that is being presented in the Zoology Museum, Tillydrone Avenue, Aberdeen.

Rachel Thibbotumunuwe, photography group leader, said: “The Conoco Natural History Centre and Zoology Museum provided the ideal opportunity for the students to develop their photographic talents and also learn more about wildlife. It’s also great to exhibit the photographs beside the museum specimens.”

Mandy Tulloch, Development Co-ordinator at the Conoco Natural History Centre, said: “We usually attract a lot of visits from schools but it was great to provide the resources we have here to adults as well. They really seemed to enjoy working with the specimens and the photographs they have produced are spectacular.”

The Reach Out Project offers educational opportunities to unemployed adults resident in Aberdeen City.

The exhibition is open weekdays between Wednesday July 18, to Monday, August 13.

Free admission.
