Trainee lawyers compete over nuisance neighbours at
Scottish Client Counselling Competition

The University of Aberdeen's School of Law will host the Scottish Client Counselling Competition
(Wednesday, 28 January) in the King's Conference Centre. The competition tests the skills of the students in interviewing a client about a legal problem, this year on the topic of Nuisance Neighbours.
The competition will involve teams of students who are currently completing the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen, Edinburgh University, Dundee University and Glasgow Graduate School of Law, the only four Scottish Law Schools offering this graduate qualification, which acts as a bridge for entry to the profession of law.
The winners of the Scottish Competition will represent Scotland in the International Competition, alongside teams from around the world. The International competitions welcome teams from USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland, England & Wales and Malaysia. Aberdeen's School of Law last hosted this competition in 1994.
The competition is sponsored by the Law Society of Scotland and local firms Ledingham Chalmers, Stronachs, Peterkins and Raeburn Christie. Members of those firms will act as judges as will two mediators from the Aberdeen Community Mediation Service.
