Successful entrepreneurs to inspire business minded students

Leading entrepreneurs are set to inspire Aberdeen students tomorrow (Tuesday 2 December) at an event aimed at nurturing business talent of the future.

The Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE) host their annual Student Enterprise Summit at the city's Beach Ballroom, providing scholars with the chance to liaise with some of the UK's most successful business figures.

Taking the theme Innovation for Social Change, the event will focus on the thinking and innovation required to solve the current challenges such as climate change and social injustice being faced by both modern society and the environment.

Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University, BBC TV and Radio presenter Nick Jankel, Chairman and Founder of leading social innovation, collaboration and leadership company Beyond Zero Innovation and Inner-Revolution.com, and James Alexander co-founder of lending organisation ZOPA, will be on hand to share their expertise and personal anecdotes of how they made it to the top of their professional field.

Students will also have the chance to take part in an Idea-Gen Storm where they will problem solve around current international social and environmental issues.  Diary room style videos booths will be set up at the event, allowing participants to pitch their ideas, the best of which will be showcased on the SIE website following the event.

The event takes place between 12.30 – 4.30pm.  Tickets cost £3 and can be purchased at the event or in advance online at http://summit.sie.ac.uk.  Lunch is included in the ticket price.
