The University of Aberdeen has climbed into the Top 20 in the UK according to the Guardian University Guide 2021.
Aberdeen have risen 14 places to be named 20th in the rankings released on Saturday September 5.
At subject level, Aberdeen's are ranked within the UK Top 10:
- 1st for Dentistry
- 2nd for Medicine
- 7th for Physics
- 9th for Computing Science
- 10th for Law
- 10th for Music
- 10th for Sports Science
- 10th for Sociology
and within the Top 20:
- 12th for Anthropology
- 13th for Anatomy & Physiology
- 13th for Engineering: general
- 16th for Psychology
- 17th for Forensic Science & Archaeology
- 18th for Accounting & Finance
In terms of the individual metrics used to inform the rankings, Aberdeen improved its ranking for six of the nine categories - Satisfied with Course, Satisfied with Teaching, Student-Staff Ratio, Expenditure per Student, Entry Tariff, and Continuation.
