The University of Aberdeen Law School will host leading international trade law expert and trade negotiator, Luis González Garcia next month.
Luis González García, who specialises in international law, international trade and international dispute resolution, will discuss the key questions surrounding Brexit trade negotiations at a seminar held at the Law School on Friday, February 9.
Formerly Counsel in investment treaty arbitrations and trade negotiator for the Government of Mexico, Luis is one of the foremost experts on international trade and investment law in the UK. In 2016, Luis testified to the House of Lords EU External Affairs and EU Internal Market Sub-Committees on Brexit and the future trade between the UK and the EU. He has trained Governments, organisations and global law firms on the trade issues that will arise from the UK’s departure from the EU.

This is a very timely event, as the UK will have to reshape its trade relationship with its most important trade partner, the EU, as well as its relationship with the World Trade Organisation and third countries, following Brexit. This seminar will set out the key questions for the UK and the EU as both sides embark in the negotiation of their future trade relationship.
The seminar will take place on Friday, February 9 between 4pm-5.30pm in New Kings 1, after the talk, a discussion will take place with the audience.
