Why did you choose to study at Aberdeen? Location close to natural landscapes and a highly regarded historic University.
Why did you choose your particular course? Course content.
What did you most enjoy about your time at Aberdeen? Did you have any particularly memorable student experiences? Walking and skiing in the Cairngorms and I really enjoyed conducting my MSc thesis.
If you were involved in any clubs and societies as a student, what did you enjoy most about them and what benefit do you think they have for students? Five-a-side football league – exercise and teamwork.
Did you hold any student leadership roles (e.g., Class Rep, Club Treasurer, Social Convenor)? Sub-warden oversight of University accommodation near Duthie Park.
If talking to a group of prospective students, what advice would you give them to help them make the most of their time at the University of Aberdeen? Go outdoors and explore the lesser-known parts of the city. I found live jazz every Sunday evening in a less explored part of the city centre.

What was your first job after graduating from Aberdeen? Sales Manager – Medical Products with SME – JRI Orthopeadics.
What did your first role involve? Consultative selling of medical devices to surgeons and clinical teams and providing guidance to support the effective use of these products in surgery.
What is your current role? Chair of the Board.
Who is your current employer? Hong Kong Federation of Business Associations Worldwide.
What is your current location? York and Hong Kong.
Please briefly describe the journey from your first job after graduating to where you are now Various management and leadership roles, 2 CEO roles and various NED roles.
Was your degree at Aberdeen essential for getting to where you are now? If so, in what way? It was essential to enable me to get a technical leadership role in the medical devices industry.
