Why did you choose to study at Aberdeen?
I met Alistair Anderson who led the course.
Why did you choose your particular course?
I thought it would equip me to start my own business.
What did you most enjoy about your time at Aberdeen? Did you have any particularly memorable student experiences?
I made lifelong friendships and my dissertation research led to a book deal.
If talking to a group of prospective students, what advice would you give them to help them make the most of their time at the University of Aberdeen?
Those late-night debates over coffee are as important as the time you spend in lectures - enjoy them!

What was the title of your first job after graduating from Aberdeen?
Global PR Manager at an energy company called Production Services Network.
What did your first role involve?
Managing the company's global communications.

Chief Operating Officer.

What is your current role?
Founder of a change management consultancy.
Please briefly describe the journey from your first job after graduating to where you are now.
I am an author, entrepreneur and coach with 20 years experience in business, journalism and communications. I built and sold an award-winning consultancy and summer school, before joining a City PR Firm as partner. I then left to write a book called The Entrepreneurial Myth, which is based on my Aberdeen dissertation and subsequent experience. I will launch my second business in January 2021.
Was your degree at Aberdeen essential for getting to where you are now? If so, in what way?
Absolutely. My dissertation ultimately secured a book deal.
