The world’s oldest Artificial Intelligence Society, the Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and Simulation of Behaviour (AISB), holds its annual convention at the University in April. As part of the convention, there will be a public event on Thursday 3 April, in Elphinstone Hall, beginning at 6.00pm. The event will examine the issues surrounding, and the consequences of, developing computers to act and think like humans. The two lectures that evening are entitled: What Designers of Artificial Companions Need to Understand About Biological Ones and Understanding the Information Turn: The Fourth Revolution.
