Join Chancellor''s Assessor, Dr Alistair Mair, at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery from 6.00pm. The Gallery''s distinguished director Dr Marc Pachter has kindly agreed to give us an exclusive talk and short tour of some the highlights of the museum which has recently undergone extensive renovation.
The visit will conclude with the famous ''Landsdowne'' painting of George Washington by the father of American portraiture Gilbert Stuart who trained under the Aberdeen artist Cosmo Alexander.
