Do We Need to Remove Carbon Dioxide from the Atmosphere to Meet our Climate Targets?
-

This is a past event

The Paris Climate Agreement states the goal of keeping global temperature increases well below 2 degrees C above preindustrial times, with every effort being made to keep them lower than 1.5 degrees C.To do this, we have to reduce greenhouse gas emissions immediately and aggressively across all sectors of the economy. But will this be enough?

We have waited so long to take action on climate change that we are now in a position where we not only need to reduce emissions, but we also have to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

Professor Pete Smith will present some of the options available now, or in development, that can do that and will discuss how this fits with our “net zero” ambitions as part of our online event on Thursday 21 April from 4pm-5.15pm (BST).

We hope that you will be able to join us for this fascinating event!

This event will also be recorded and shared afterwards.

Online registrations have now closed. If you would like to attend this event please email us on alumni@abdn.ac.uk and we will register you.

If you also have any questions please do not hesitate to email us at alumni@abdn.ac.uk
