Join our latest creative writing workshop with Scottish novelist and Senior Lecturer Alan Warner on Thursday 26 August from 1pm-2.30pm (BST).
Explore and share your creative writing by submitting small excerpts of your work to Alan, which can then be explored together during a very informal live, online session. We will look at some of your pieces in detail and discuss the practical principles involved in precise and effective fiction writing.
In advance of the session we invite participants to write a single 100-150 word piece of flash fiction. Interesting examples of flash fiction can be found online at fridayflashfiction.com. We ask that your pieces be sent to alumni@abdn.ac.uk by Monday 23 August.
Alan will select a few pieces, some randomly and some by choice, which will then be explored in more detail during the workshop. It might not be posible to look at all of the submitted examples of flash fiction but we will certainly try and Alan will, of course, read all your work carefully.
If you would like to attend but not have your work shown that is also fine, but do have a go! This workshop will be run in an informal and fun manner, so relax and enjoy it!
Please sign up below to confirm your place. We will share joining information for the event a few days beforehand with those registered.
