Major Seth A. Johnston (D.Phil) is a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow and Visiting Scholar at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University, as well as being a former Task Force Commander with the NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan. He was previously an Assistant Professor of International Relations at West Point and earned his D.Phil from The University of Oxford. Major Johnston’s research interest focuses on bureaucratic actors in NATO’s overall adaptation and the effects of international conflicts of transatlantic importance on prospects for peace and security in Europe. He recently published a book on his research titled ‘How NATO Adapts: Strategy and Organization in the Atlantic Alliance since 1990’.
We are delighted to welcome Major Johnston to The University of Aberdeen to deliver a fascinating lecture on the future of NATO and strategy for the 21st Century.
The lecture will be followed by a drinks and canapes reception, where you will have the opportunity to speak with Major Johnston and catch-up with fellow Alumni and friends.
