A 10% discount is available at the following University food outlets to all Alumni Privilege Card holders: MacRoberts, Hardback Café, Union Brew, Sgt. Peppers, Roots, Noodle Exchange, Cocina Mexicana, CuriosiTea, Urban Café (IMS) and Tiki @Suttie. (This does not include franchises such as Subway and Baskins, and excludes all meal deals and promotions).

Alumni can now add official University of Aberdeen backgrounds to Microsoft Teams! Simply follow the instructions below:

1. Download the Teams Backgrounds zip file file to your desktop.
2. Extract the images
3. Create a test meeting in your Teams Calendar and invite yourself.
4. Click Join in the Calendar invite.
5. In the pre-join window, make sure your camera is on, then click on the Background icon (below your video) to open the Background settings panel.
6. Click + Add new, then browse your computer to locate the University themed images, select the one you want to upload, and click Open.
7. Add more images as required.
8. You can now close the test meeting without joining the meeting.
9. The next time you join a meeting, the image/s will be there for you to select from the Background settings panel.

The University of Aberdeen is very pleased to offer a 20% discount in postgraduate tuition fees for all alumni who have graduated with a degree from, or studied for a period as an International Exchange, Study Abroad or Erasmus student at, the University of Aberdeen.

The Alumni Discount Scheme applies to both home and overseas students, and applies to the self-funding element of the postgraduate tuition fee. This is the element of tuition fee which you are personally paying yourself and does not cover the element of tuition fee which is covered by a scholarship, funding body, your employer, a company, or any another source of funding. The Alumni Discount applies only to the tuition fee element and does not apply to any additional costs such as additional programme costs or research costs.

Reduced Membership Fee

The Sir Duncan Rice Library is delighted to be able to offer all Alumni a reduced annual fee of £20 plus £30 deposit, allowing them access to the library and its materials.

The University of Aberdeen's Library is as old as the University itself. It represents a unique resource for teaching, research and scholarship. The Library operates an 'open door' policy whereby the riches of its collections are available for consultation to members of the general public.

Graduates also have the opportunity to join 'The Friends of Aberdeen University Library', a registered charity founded in 1962, which encourages the donation of books, prints, manuscripts and other items of interest to the library. They also engage in fundraising, to help the Library to buy special books, manuscripts and other items of particular interest. 'The Friends' organize two or three events each year, related to the Library and its collections, and they publish the 'Friends News'. Annual or Life Memberships of 'The Friends of Aberdeen University Library' are available.
