Short abstract: The paper presents the results of a discrete choice experiment survey to elicit women’s preferences for stress urinary incontinence treatments, conducted as part of the SIMS study.  We show that patients place considerable value on improvement in stress urinary incontinence symptoms and avoidance of treatment complications.  We demonstrate important trade-offs that need to be considered between the benefits and risks of treatment to inform shared decision making.  We provide willingness to pay values and show how these can used in economic evaluations of SUI treatments to ensure that decisions on cost-effectiveness take a patient-centred approach.
