- Study Findings
-
This study aimed to identify and characterise multimorbidity clusters, using linked inpatient hospital records, for a large, unselected, hospital cohort. The cohort comprised of adults admitted to hospital within Grampian, Scotland, in the year 2014 who had two or more chronic conditions (from a list of 30 conditions) diagnosed within a 5-year prior period. Clusters of conditions were defined from clinical review and assessing prevalence with patient groups. Factors that varied greatly between clusters included age, sex, and deprivation.
