MRI Research in Aberdeen: the past, present and future
Researchers from the University of Aberdeen were at the forefront of developing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) which would go on to transform medical investigations and resulting treatment, saving lives across the world.
Join researchers from the University of Aberdeen’s MRI Technology Research Group as they look back on the pioneering work in the 70s and 80s, how the technology has benefited patients today and how new research is developing new types of MRI scanner, to provide earlier, more reliable diagnosis and better monitoring of responses to treatment.
This event for the public is being held as part of the annual meeting of theBritish and Irish Chapter of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. This year’s meeting is being hosted by Aberdeen University and will be on the theme of ‘New Horizons in Medical Imaging’.taking place on the 13th and 14th of September. During this meeting, researchers from across the UK and Ireland will gather to discuss the latest developments in MRI scanning.
