Dr Jess Butler, Research Culture, Improvements coming to the university and across the UK
Recent surveys by the Wellcome Trust and UKRI show that there are grave problems with universities’ research culture.
These problems affect both who is able to do research as well as the rigour and the usefulness of the research itself.
I’ll present recent work evaluating research culture, and describe improvements to research assessment and funding being developed across the UK.
We’ll have a chance to talk about what the University can do to improve our research culture here.
