SINAPSE-led session on Data Sciences and Brain Health across the Life Course in 2020 SICSA Conference

Further to the announcement in this month’s SINAPSE Newsletter that we are leading a session on Data Sciences and Brain Health across the Life Course as part of the 2020 Annual Conference for the Informatics and Computer Science research pool SICSA on 1 October 2020, I’m pleased to confirm that the event website is now live: https://sicsaconference.org/

Under the conference theme SICSA and the Sustainable Society, participation in this virtual event is invited from other research pools across Scotland, to bring together a large community of people to discuss the Computing and interdisciplinary challenges ahead.

In our Data Sciences and Brain Health across the Life Course session from 1:15-3:15pm (co-organised with the Life Sciences research pool SULSA, the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium and SICSA), a cross-pool panel of research leaders will speak about opportunities to build capacity in Scotland by integrating data science with brain health research areas of neurobiology and neuroimaging in order to address multidisciplinary challenges in the early detection of dementia.  We encourage all interested SINAPSE members to participate – the session will include plentiful time for open discussion with the presenters and other attendees.  Discussions will help to identify hot topics within the pathway from lab bench to patient, and SINAPSE, SULSA and SICSA plan to fund a series of sandpits in these areas as an outcome.
