Today's talk will cover how everyday consumer electronic devices can be used to support vulnerable adults in a care setting and the work that we are doing to develop a new voice user interface to perform a daily check-in to understand the user’s feelings of loneliness and any support requirements. Our ultimate vision is to create a home that cares for you as you age, with the sensors in the home providing insight into wellbeing, promoting self-care and allowing data to be securely shared with others. We are interested to discuss with the attendees the future of smart homes and the role that they could service in addressing the Ageing Society grand challenge.
