I'm Chris McNeil, after spending the first 15 years of my research career working at Rowett Institute researching Human Nutrition and health, I have worked within the Aberdeen Biomedical imaging Centre for the last 10 years. I've worked closely with Professor Murray to use data collected from the Aberdeen Birth cohorts to understand the process of ‘normal’ ageing. In particular, I have used the information gained from MRI imaging to understand the causes and consequences of brain pathology, and why some people have an the ability to live and function normally despite an apparently unhealthy brain.
