Local award-winning artist Kate Steenhauer draws live on stage in Japanese ink, watch her work unfold on a screen through a projector.

The live drawing is converted into a sonic performance in real time using an Artificial Intelligence developed by Meng. student Jack Caven. Dr Andrew Starkey will explain the AI “brain” and how it exploits the analogy between art and music composition during the performance. The narrative centres around the question is AI good or bad?

This event will feature a British Sign Language interpreter.
