ABEC

ABEC

ABEC is a scientific collaboration between the University of Aberdeen and Queen’s University Belfast dedicated to advancing knowledge by undertaking rigorous evidence syntheses on a wide range of healthcare, public health and social care interventions, and technologies.  Our mission is to generate robust evidence from existing research studies to inform clinical practice and policy, improve patient outcomes and reduce inequalities.

We use cutting-edge methods for all components of our work and rely on a cadre of highly experienced and qualified researchers with a broad range of specialist skills who can conduct evidence syntheses in a wide range of research topics to address important healthcare and social care issues.  Our areas of expertise include information science, health services research, social science, implementation science, medical statistics, public health research, and health economics.

We are one of the nine Evidence Synthesis Groups in the UK funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research to undertake evidence syntheses for the Evidence Synthesis Programme.

More information on the NIHR Evidence Synthesis Programme including details of the current Evidence Synthesis Groups can be found here.
