2016 American College of Rheumatology ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting
Professor Cosimo De Bari was an invited speaker at the 2016 American College of Rheumatology ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting held in Washington, DC during the week of November 11‐16, 2016.
His talk was titled “Stem Cell Niches within the Joint and Elsewhere”, and was part of the BASIC SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM “What is the Science behind Mesenchymal Stem Cells Therapy in Arthritis?” held on Sunday 13th November 2016.
Professor De Bari presented recent data from his Arthritis and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory on the stem cells that are naturally present in the joint in a membrane that lines the joint cavity and is called synovium. This work ultimately aims to harness the power of those stem cells for cartilage repair and treatment of osteoarthritis. His talk was very well received.
