Research Overview
I am affiliated to the Arthritis and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory. My research interest is focused on investigating the role of lectins e.g. siglecs in autoimmune disorders affecting the kidney and blood vessels e.g. vasculitis. We developed a novel live cell imaging system that can be used to measure leukocyte-endothelial interactions relevant to autoimmune conditions such as small vessel vasculitis. We aim to test the role of siglec-9 agonism in preventing exaggerated innate responses in vasculitis. We are also interested in understanding how endogenous stem cells contribute to the pathogensis of vascular injury in large vessel vasculitis. We set up a thriving Vasculitis Biorepository to support our basic science and translational studies.
