Fina looking forward to NHS career after graduating as a Physician Associate

Fina, 27, who is originally from Kenya, chose to study at the University of Aberdeen because it was "a world class university offering exemplary teaching while equally providing a multicultural environment for international students".

In addition to the time she spent exploring Scotland, Fina excelled academically.

“I had a rough start after getting my visa denied in the year prior and having to defer one academic year but two years later I finally bagged my Masters, finishing the top of my class and receiving the Steve Heys Award despite the unprecedented COVID 19 pandemic. It makes all the hassle worthwhile.

“I want to work for the NHS because I have always been passionate about healthcare and human interaction therefore assuming the PA role in the NHS provides an opportunity for career growth and development, an association with one of the best health services globally while simultaneously positively impacting people's lives.

“How does it feel to be graduating at this unprecedented time? Different! Rare! Are just some of the words to describe the situation. Despite it all, we still managed to pull through and I am now looking forward to joining the NHS as a newly qualified Physician Associates and kickstarting my career journey.”
