Placing Orders

  • The universities catering service RockSalt Delivered is the only catering permitted on campus without prior consent from campus services. This is due to allergen and food hygiene concerns. 
  • The notice period for ordering items is detailed under each item on our website.
  • Internal orders must be placed through our finance system and external customer orders must be placed using the form online. Further information can be found on our how to order page.
  • Once you receive a confirmation email please respond providing an event finishing time to collect the kit box.
  • Catering is not permitted in any teaching space on campus therefore please ensure there is a catering table provided outside the room for the catering to be placed on.
  • As standard our items will be provided in compostable disposables, however we have the option to hire crockery if required.
  • When ordering hot drinks please be aware we provide an equal split between tea and coffee and enough to cater for one 8oz cup per person.

Delivery & Pick Up

  • Our delivery service operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm. If you require catering out with these hours a delivery fee of £35.00 will be applied, please contact hospitality directly before placing the order.
  • Deliveries may arrive 20 minutes before or after the requested time due to the volume of activity that day.
  • We understand that you may not want to be disturbed by our team during your event, if this is the case please let us know at time of booking if you would prefer the catering left outside the room.
  • Please ensure after your event that all catering is cleared up and items are placed back in the blue box provided, our delivery team is not responsible for tidying up the venue.
  • If items are removed from the delivery venue please let hospitality know of the change in venue for kit pick up.
  • Please do not leave catering unattended, RockSalt hospitality do not claim responsibility for items going missing once delivered.
  • Please be aware there will be a charge for any missing or damaged equipment such as flasks, reusable platter trays and RockSalt water bottles.

Amendments and Cancellations

  • If you require to make any changes to your order please contact our hospitality team directly however please be aware it may not always be possible to accommodate any last minute amendments.
  • Our cancellation notice period varies depending on the item ordered:
    • Tea/Coffee/Juice - 24 hours notice
    • Sandwich Platters and soup - 72 hours notice (not including weekends)
    • Buffets - 72 hours notice (not including weekends)
    • Desserts - 72 hours notice (not including weekends)

Food Safety

  • Allergen and dietary information will be provided with all delivered catering.
  • The notice period for providing for dietary requirements is 72 hours.
  • Food safety recommends that all food must be consumed within 2 hours of delivery.

Minimum Numbers & Item Substitution

  • A minimum order number of 10 may apply to certain items, if this is the case it will be detailed on our website.
  • If the original item requested cannot be provided due to issues with supply etc, we reserve the right to substitute for items of equal or superior quality.

Menu Pricing

  • Pricing detailed on our website is exclusive of VAT which will be applied at time of booking if applicable.
  • Pricing is valid until the end of December 2024 however some items may be subject to inflationary increases before this time.
