Care and Support

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy works as a team. We are a multi-faith group of individuals who endeavour to help, guide, listen and befriend both those with a living faith and those who don't have a faith.

Most importantly we are available for those who may find themselves struggling with life events, studies, unexpected losses and conflicts, relationships or just making it all fit together.

Our care is confidential and tailored to meet your needs as you understand them.

We can help by offering:

  • Support and a sympathetic listening ear
  • Someone to talk to if you are worried about a friend or a member of your family
  • Hospital visits
  • A confidential and independent sounding board
  • Practical care in a crisis
  • Support for emotional or spiritual issues and referrals to more specialist agencies if appropriate
  • Support when it is not immediately obvious where else to go for help
  • A place to ask spiritual questions or raise questions not of a religious nature

The Chaplaincy works closely with Student Support Services. In addition to the Chaplaincy, Student Support Services consists of two other areas specialising in non-academic support for students: Student Advice & Support Office and Counselling Service. For more information, visit the Student Support Services website.

If you feel you would like to chat to someone but don't know who is best placed to help you, please contact the main office. If you know who you'd like to speak to, feel free to use the contact details for either the University chaplains or the denominational chaplains who are listed on the staff pages.

Our work revolves around building relationships and encouraging community among students and staff, with and without a living faith.
