Opened in 1970, the Zoology Building is located over St Machar Drive next to the Cruickshank Botanic Gardens and opposite the Science Teaching Hub. The main entrance is on Tillydrone Avenue. The building houses staff from the School of Biological Sciences as well as the University's Zoology Museum, which cares for an extensive range of material, worldwide in scope, covering the whole of the animal kingdom, from protozoa to the great whales.
The building's design is a Brutalist interpretation of the famous granite facade of Marischal College.
