Originally a church on the High Street, the St Mary's building was extended in 1969 and again in 1980. The main entrance can now be found on Elphinstone Road close to the Student Union Building.

The building contains the Archaeology, Geography & Land Economy Departments. Along with a selection of lecture theatres, there are several computer rooms for the use of students. Also present in the building is the Arkleton Centre For Rural Development Research.
