Located in Newburgh on the Aberdeenshire coast, the National Decommissioning Centre was established in 2016 as a £38m partnership between the University of Aberdeen, the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) and industry.

The NDC is working in partnership with the energy sector to lead in Research and Development that will support the sector in achieving cost reductions, extending field and asset life, and transforming approaches in order to deliver sustainable net zero decommissioning.

The National Decommissioning Centre can be found to the north of the village on the A975.
