The Health Sciences Building is located at Foresterhill opposite the Institute of Medical Sciences and the Polwarth Building. It opened in August 2006 and was partly funded by SRIF, the University of Aberdeen and the Wolfson Foundation.
The ground floor houses the purpose-built Clinical Research Facility, and the building is also home to researchers from the Institute of Applied Health Sciences who pursue an agenda of excellence in relation to the epidemiology and management of common diseases as well as designing and evaluating health services for delivering care.
The building also hosts the Health Services Research Unit, Academic Urology Unit, Health Psychology and the Epidemiology Group. The Imaging Department boasts state-of-the-art equipment suitable for a variety of uses. There are two highly qualified research radiographers trained in all modalities and the facilities are capable of up-to-the-minute imaging techniques.
