Thank you for participating in the BeeWatch Survey. The data that you provide is very important to us. We use it to map bumblebee species distributions, which is integral to the conservation of this much-loved insect.

We are particularly interested in the distribution of our rare bumblebee species, and thanks to your 14,000 records so far we have managed to identify several new populations.

All we need is a digital photo, a date and a location - it only takes a few minutes!

The new online identification guide for all 22 UK bumblebee species will help you to identify your species. It is simple to use and is aimed at users with different levels of expertise. Once you have uploaded your photograph(s) and entered the details of your bumblebee sighting, use the guide to find a matching species.

Don't worry if you can't find a match for your photographed species - bumblebee identification can be tricky!

One of our experts will later review your submission and confirm or complete the identification. You will be sent a notification email at this stage.
