Prefixes to Shelfmarks on the Library Catalogue
Shelfmarks for library materials are in general based on Dewey
Decimal classification numbers. Many also have one or more sets
of prefixes.
A list of these prefixes is available online
and in pdf
format. It also gives their meaning, and where appropriate, the location
of the items.
Archives and Manuscripts
A separate online catalogue to our archives and manuscripts is also available.
