Welcome to the Rural Law Research Group (RLRG) website. The RLRG is a unique research grouping in Scotland. It was established to reflect the research and teaching interests of Dr Aylwin Pillai (Lecturer in Law), Mrs Donna McKenzie Skene (Senior Lecturer in Law) and Ms Anne-Michelle Slater (Senior Lecturer in Law). We are actively involved in research, consultancy and teaching in the field of rural law. The University of Aberdeen, the College of Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Law support the work of the RLRG. Collaboration with the Hutton Institute is being strengthened through an AHRC funded collaborative studentship on non-commercial farming in Scotland.
The Rural Law Research Group is delighted to announce the arrival of two new colleagues to the School of Law and to the research group (March 2011): Anatole Boute and Malcolm Combe. Anatole specialises in electricity regulation and has a particular interest in the development or renewable energy. He joins the teaching and research team here and will also contribute to the Centre for Energy Law.
