Alan Spence is one of Scotland's best loved contemporary writers, and is Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Aberdeen. In this year's lecture he considers the inner world of the writer and talks about his new novel Night Boat.
Alan Spence is the University's Professor in Creative Writing and was founder and Director of the annual the Word Festival. His latest novel Night Boat, set in 18th Century Japan, has been hailed as a masterpiece.
