BNASS/TRACE SPEC: The Tandem Conference

BNASS/TRACE SPEC: The Tandem Conference
-

This is a past event

Over 3 ½ days, the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the International Association of Environmental Analytical Chemistry (IAEAC) will bring together two established analytical conferences to the 500 year old venue of the King’s College at the University of Aberdeen.

Both meetings traditionally focus on trace element analysis, with BNASS focussing on the promotion and development of both fundamental and applied atomic spectroscopy in all sample types, and TraceSpec featuring foremost the analysis of the molecular form of metals and metalloids in environmental, material and biological tissues.

This TANDEM conference aims to bring these two analytical communities closer together with a programme that draws out topical and vibrant areas from both and importantly making room for overlap and overarching themes. The TANDEM conference will be accompanied by an exhibition of analytical equipment in the historical setting of Elphinstone Hall, where the poster exhibition and coffee breaks will also take place to set the scene for thriving discussions.

BNASS 2014 – 17th Biennial National Atomic Spectroscopy Symposium

This meeting has been organised for over 30 years by the Atomic Spectroscopy Group of the RSC, and provides an ideal forum for manufacturer, professional analysts and scientists who are interested in analytical atomic spectrometry and its applications.

TraceSpec 2014 – 14th Workshop on Progress in Trace Metal Speciation for Environmental Analytical Chemistry

The TraceSpec meeting is unique because that it traditionally brings together users of hyphenated atomic and molecular spectrometric techniques such as HPLC-ICPMS and HPLC-ESI-MS with those who use dynamic speciation techniques (voltammetry, DGT, etc.), direct in-situ surface methods (XANES, EXAFS)  and thermodynamic or  kinetic based modelling.
